Waning Gibbous

After the full moon, the illuminated portion begins to shrink from the left (in the Northern Hemisphere), producing the waning gibbous phase. It rises later each night โ€” shortly after sunset โ€” and remains visible into the morning sky. This phase is sometimes called the 'disseminating moon' in older almanacs, referring symbolically to the distribution of what the full moon revealed.
