Last Quarter

At last quarter (also called the third quarter), half of the moon's visible face is lit once again, but the opposite half from the first quarter. It rises around midnight and is highest in the sky around sunrise, making it most visible in the morning. The phase marks three-quarters of the way through the lunar cycle, with roughly a week remaining before the next new moon.
