A versatile Belgian defender who provided steady reliability for a string of clubs in the Netherlands and Belgium over a 17-year professional career.
Timothy Derijck's football journey is a testament to durability and adaptability. The Belgian centre-back, who could also slot in at right-back, spent the majority of his career away from the spotlight of Europe's biggest leagues, becoming a familiar and trusted figure in the Eredivisie and the Belgian Pro League. After coming through the PSV Eindhoven youth system, he never quite cemented a place there but found his footing with ADO Den Haag, where his consistent performances made him a fan favorite. A move to FC Twente followed, and he later became a defensive mainstay for Zulte Waregem. His career came full circle when he returned to ADO Den Haag for a second stint, eventually transitioning into a coaching role upon retirement, bringing his on-pitch intelligence to the sidelines.

Timothy was born in 1987, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
