A versatile Greek forward whose explosive athleticism and defensive tenacity made him a cornerstone for top European clubs.
Michalis Pelekanos carved out a respected and lengthy career in European basketball not as a superstar scorer, but as the ultimate glue guy. Standing at 6'6", his physical gifts were immediately apparent—a combination of leaping ability, strength, and quickness that allowed him to guard multiple positions. He entered the professional scene with AEK Athens, but his game matured and found its ideal expression at Olympiacos, where he became a fan favorite for his relentless energy. Pelekanos was the player who took the toughest defensive assignment, chased loose balls, and provided timely scoring bursts. His versatility saw him shift from shooting guard early on to small forward and even power forward later, using his strength to battle bigger opponents. While his name wasn't always atop the stat sheet, coaches valued him as a critical piece for winning basketball, contributing to domestic championships and deep runs in the EuroLeague.
