A powerhouse rugby league centre whose aggressive running and competitive fire made him a cornerstone of Queensland's State of Origin dynasty.
Justin Hodges won NRL premierships with the Sydney Roosters in 2002 and the Brisbane Broncos in 2006, captaining the latter. A product of the Broncos system, the tall centre played with a trademark scowl and a devastating fend that broke defensive lines. His uncompromising attitude made him a nightmare for defenders. In State of Origin, he anchored Queensland's backline during their eight-year winning streak. He formed a lethal partnership with Greg Inglis. His battles with New South Wales' Jarryd Hayne were defined by physicality and sheer will. Opponents loved to hate him. His passion sometimes boiled over, but his talent and impact for club and state were never in doubt.
