A stalwart left-back who became a defensive fixture for Mexico, earning over 50 caps and anchoring Tigres UANL's most successful era in club history.
Jorge "Pechu" Torres Nilo embodied the quiet, consistent reliability that defines a consummate professional. Unlike flashy attackers, his career was built on defensive solidity, intelligent positioning, and a fierce loyalty to his club. Emerging from Atlas's youth system, he found his true home at Tigres UANL in 2010, where he would spend the next decade becoming a club legend. As the first-choice left-back, Torres Nilo was the steady presence on the flank during Tigres' transformation into a Mexican powerhouse. His tenure coincided with the club's golden age, a period of unprecedented domestic and international success. While not a frequent goal-scorer, his contributions were vital in building from the back and stifling opposition attacks. His calm demeanor and consistent performances also made him a trusted option for the Mexican national team across multiple Copa América and World Cup qualifying campaigns. Upon retiring in 2021, he left as a one-club man in spirit, synonymous with the discipline and stability that brought Tigres to the forefront of Liga MX.
