The dynamic, tattooed voice of modern post-hardcore, steering Escape the Fate through lineup shifts and genre evolution.
Craig Mabbitt erupted onto the post-hardcore scene as the replacement frontman for Blessthefall, his aggressive vocals helping define their early sound. His true calling card, however, came when he took the helm of Escape the Fate in 2008, a band already beloved but in turmoil. Mabbitt didn't just fill shoes; he stamped his own identity on the group, blending melodic hooks with raw, screamed intensity across albums like the self-titled 'Escape the Fate' and 'Ungrateful.' His tenure has seen the band navigate the shifting tides of rock music, moving from metalcore roots towards a more anthemic, hard rock style. Beyond his main act, his side project Dead Rabbitts allows for a heavier outlet, showcasing his versatility and deep roots in the scene that raised him.
