A sharpshooting forward whose loyalty and clutch performances made him a cornerstone of Greek basketball for over a decade.
Stratos Perperoglou embodied the classic Greek basketball forward: intelligent, fundamentally sound, and fiercely competitive. Standing at 6'8" with a smooth shooting stroke, he was a versatile offensive weapon capable of stretching the floor or attacking the basket. His career was defined by remarkable stability and success at the highest levels of European basketball. After early years with Maroussi, he became a central figure at Panathinaikos, one of Europe's powerhouse clubs, where he won multiple Greek League championships and a EuroLeague title in 2011, contributing crucial minutes off the bench. Perperoglou was also a stalwart for the Greek national team, a reliable presence in major tournaments like the FIBA World Cup and EuroBasket. His game wasn't built on flash but on consistency, basketball IQ, and a team-first mentality that made him a valued teammate and a difficult opponent for years.
