Biography
Alberto Salazar won the 1982 Boston Marathon in a finish so brutal it required intravenous fluids. His time of 2:08:51 capped a period of dominance where he also secured the 1980-1982 New York City Marathon titles and a 1982 world best in the marathon. Salazar’s approach fused relentless training with a fierce competitive will, pushing human endurance limits under coach Bill Dellinger.
