A supremely gifted Belgian driver who conquered Formula E after a tough F1 stint, proving his elite speed and adaptability in any racing category.
Stoffel Vandoorne claimed the Formula E world title in his second full season with Mercedes-EQ, mastering the all-electric championship. Born in 1992, he dominated junior formulae and was hailed as a generational talent. His long-awaited Formula One opportunity with McLaren arrived during the team's most uncompetitive period. Despite flashes of brilliance, unreliable machinery ended his F1 chapter prematurely. He reinvented himself in Formula E, winning the title with meticulous consistency. Today, he races in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Peugeot, tackling the 24 Hours of Le Mans, while serving as a reserve driver in F1.
1981–1996
The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Stoffel was born in 1992, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
