A powerhouse Tongan prop whose formidable NRL career was built on explosive hits and a relentless work ethic for multiple clubs.
Siosaia Vave's story is one of Pacific Island power finding a home in the brutal world of Australian rugby league. Hailing from Tonga, his professional journey was defined by resilience, as he carved out a role as a valuable, hard-nosed forward for a string of NRL teams. He wasn't always the flashy star, but coaches valued his consistency, his ability to make punishing tackles, and his relentless charges into the defensive line. From his debut with Parramatta to stints at Manly, Cronulla, and Melbourne, Vave brought a predictable and necessary physicality. His peak came with the Storm, where he played a part in their relentless machine under Craig Bellamy. Beyond the NRL, he proudly represented Tonga on the international stage, embodying the passion and strength of Mate Ma'a. His later career saw him extend his playing days in New South Wales' competitive Ron Massey Cup.
