An Australian songwriter whose haunting voice and cinematic indie rock explore the raw, poetic edges of human emotion.
Emerging from the Sydney music scene in the mid-90s, Sarah Blasko spent years refining a sound that is unmistakably her own. After fronting the band Acquiesce, she stepped out as a solo artist, crafting songs that feel like intimate, artfully lit vignettes. Her breakthrough album, 'As Day Follows Night,' recorded in Sweden with producer Björn Yttling, stripped her arrangements to a stark, piano-and-strings foundation, revealing the sharp, literary quality of her songwriting. Blasko’s work is defined by its emotional precision and atmospheric depth, earning her a devoted following and multiple ARIA Awards. Beyond recording, she has composed for theatre and film, demonstrating a restless creative intellect that treats each album as a new, cohesive world to build and inhabit.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Sarah was born in 1976, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
