A Czech athlete who uniquely competed as a professional footballer before reinventing himself as a mixed martial artist.
Miroslav Slepička earned a call-up to the Czech national team as a forward for FK Jablonec. He developed in Sparta Prague's youth system and became a reliable goal-scorer in the Czech First League. After his football legs slowed, he channeled his competitive fire into a completely different arena: the cage. Training in MMA, he embarked on a second professional sports career in his thirties. He fought primarily in the Czech-based Oktagon promotion, demonstrating a gritty, stand-up style. His two-career journey shows an athlete refusing to be defined by a single sport.
1981–1996
The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Miroslav was born in 1981, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
