A Swedish center with a cannon of a shot who became the heart of the New York Rangers' offense and a master of the dramatic game-winning goal.
Mika Zibanejad was drafted sixth overall by Ottawa in 2011. After a rocky initial transition, he returned to Swedish hockey for refinement. A 2016 trade to the New York Rangers unlocked his potential. He evolved from a reliable two-way center into an offensive powerhouse, his skating becoming explosive and his shot one of the league's most feared weapons. In the 2022 playoffs, he scored a series-clinching overtime winner. For Sweden, he contributed to World Championship gold and became a leadership pillar for Tre Kronor.

Mika was born in 1993, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
