A Manx cyclist who carved out a solid professional career on the road, representing the tiny Isle of Man in the demanding world of European pelotons.
Hailing from the Isle of Man, an island with a cycling culture disproportionate to its size, Mark Christian followed in the tire tracks of legends. He turned professional after showing promise on the British circuit, soon making the leap to continental European teams. Christian's career was that of a diligent domestique, a rider who sacrifices personal glory for the team leader. He spent seasons with Pro-Continental squads like Team WIGGINS, where he supported track stars transitioning to the road, and later with Eolo-Kometa. His role involved controlling the peloton, fetching supplies from the team car, and shepherding leaders through mountainous stages. While not a household name, his career highlights the essential, often unseen, work that makes cycling a team sport, proudly carrying the Manx flag across Europe.

Mark was born in 1990, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
