A pillar of Japanese pop culture, he evolved from a teen idol in KAT-TUN to a respected actor and versatile television personality.
Kazuya Kamenashi was molded by the rigorous Johnny & Associates system, joining the agency at just 12 years old. He debuted as one-sixth of the immensely popular group KAT-TUN, which dominated charts and arenas in the 2000s with a blend of pop and rock. Kamenashi, however, never confined himself to the stage. He strategically built a parallel career in acting while the group was active, taking on lead roles in television dramas like 'Gokusen 2' and the baseball story 'Suppli.' His turn as a ruthless banker in the financial drama 'Money no Tora' showcased a darker, more mature range. When KAT-TUN went on hiatus, Kamenashi smoothly transitioned, becoming a fixture on Japanese TV as a sharp-witted variety show host and producer, proving his durability in a fickle industry.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Kazuya was born in 1986, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
