A Brazilian midfield destroyer whose tactical intelligence and fierce tackling became the bedrock for multiple Champions League triumphs at Real Madrid.
Born in São José dos Campos, Casemiro's journey from the futsal courts of Brazil to the summit of European football is a story of relentless grit. He joined São Paulo's youth academy at 11, making his professional debut at 18. His big break came with a 2013 move to Real Madrid, but it was a loan spell at Porto that forged him into the complete defensive midfielder. Returning to Madrid, he became the indispensable anchor in a midfield with Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos, his positional discipline and physicality allowing their creativity to flourish. He was central to a historic era, winning five Champions League titles. In 2022, he brought his winning mentality to Manchester United, instantly transforming their midfield. For Brazil, he has been a stalwart, representing his country in multiple World Cups and Copa América victories.
