An Argentine midfield sorcerer whose elegant passing and vision made him a continental star at clubs like Lazio and Manchester United.
Juan Sebastián Verón, known as 'La Brujita' (The Little Witch), inherited a footballing destiny from his father and transformed it into a globe-trotting career of high technique and complex narratives. Emerging from Estudiantes de La Plata, his blend of physical power and preternatural passing range made him a complete modern midfielder. His peak years in Italy with Parma and especially Lazio were majestic; he was the orchestrator of a Scudetto-winning side, his long balls seeming to bend to his will. A then-record British transfer to Manchester United followed, but his time in England became a case study in a player's style not quite syncing with a league's frantic pace, despite flashes of brilliance. He later revived his reputation at Chelsea and Inter Milan before a triumphant return home to Estudiantes, where he led them to a Copa Libertadores title as captain, cementing his godlike status at the club he now leads as chairman.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Juan was born in 1975, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
