A speedy, skilled center whose hockey journey took him from a first-round NHL draft pick to a career as a valued veteran across North America and Europe.
Jordan Schroeder's career is a map of professional hockey in the 21st century: a high draft pick, NHL cups of coffee, AHL leadership, and a final act in Europe. Hailed as a dynamic playmaker coming out of the US National Team Development Program and the University of Minnesota, the Vancouver Canucks selected him in the first round of the 2009 draft. While he showed flashes of his high-end skill and speed in the NHL, he found his most consistent success in the American Hockey League, becoming a point-per-game force and an All-Star for the Chicago Wolves. Schroeder embraced the role of a journeyman, bringing his experience to several NHL organizations before crossing the Atlantic. His time in Sweden's SHL with Brynäs IF showcased his adaptability, using his vision and playmaking in a different hockey culture to extend his playing days.
