A character actor whose promising career, including a role on General Hospital, was tragically cut short by senseless violence in Los Angeles.
Johnny Wactor arrived in Hollywood from South Carolina with a steady determination, building a career one guest spot and supporting role at a time. He worked steadily in television, with appearances on series like 'Army Wives' and 'The OA,' and in films such as 'USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage.' His most prominent role came on the long-running soap opera 'General Hospital,' where he played bartender Brando Corbin, bringing a vulnerable toughness to the character. Wactor also showcased his versatility in the ambitious, mockumentary-style series 'Siberia.' In May 2024, his life ended abruptly and shockingly when he was shot and killed while confronting individuals attempting to steal a catalytic converter from his car. His death was mourned by colleagues and fans as a devastating loss of a kind and hardworking talent.
