A Canadian curler whose powerful sweeping and strategic mind helped deliver two of the most dramatic Olympic golds in the sport's history.
John Morris grew up in a curling household—his father invented the now-ubiquitous Stabilizer broom—and the ice was his second home. He forged a reputation as one of the game's fiercest competitors and most reliable shot-makers, playing third with a relentless intensity. His first Olympic gold in 2010 with Kevin Martin's rink was a masterclass in team precision. But it was his second, eight years later in PyeongChang, that cemented his legacy. Teaming with Kaitlyn Lawes in the mixed doubles debut, Morris displayed stunning versatility and clutch skill, securing the win in an extra-end thriller. A fitness advocate who wrote 'Fit to Curl', he embodies the modern athlete-curler, blending traditional skill with physical conditioning and an unshakeable will to win.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
John was born in 1978, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
