A West Coast defensive colossus whose uncanny marking and game-saving intercepts redefined the art of the key defender in modern AFL.
Jeremy McGovern didn't just defend; he dominated the airspace. For over a decade with the West Coast Eagles, the tall, broad-shouldered West Australian constructed a fortress in the back half. His game was built on a preternatural understanding of angles and flight, allowing him to consistently pluck intercept marks that broke opposition attacks and launched his own team forward. While not the fastest player, his positioning and sheer physical presence made him nearly impossible to bypass. His partnership with fellow defender Shannon Hurn became the bedrock of the Eagles' structure, crucial to their 2018 premiership triumph. McGovern's career, though occasionally hampered by injury, was a masterclass in defensive impact, making him one of the most influential and feared defenders of his generation.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Jeremy was born in 1992, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
