A crafty halfback who orchestrated attacks for three different clubs before steering the Brisbane Broncos as head coach.
Ivan Henjak carved out a solid career as a scheming halfback in the rough-and-tumble world of Australian rugby league during the 1980s. Born in 1963, he moved from the St. George Dragons to become a foundational player for the Canberra Raiders in their inaugural season, helping to establish the club's identity. His playing journey later took him to Western Suburbs and a stint in England with Hull FC. After hanging up his boots, Henjak transitioned into coaching, working as an assistant under Wayne Bennett at the powerhouse Brisbane Broncos. His deep understanding of the game earned him the top job in 2009, where he faced the immense challenge of following a legend and managing a roster in transition.

Ivan was born in 1963, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
