A guitarist's guitarist, he combines staggering technical fluency with a boundless musical curiosity that defies genre.
Guthrie Govan won 'Guitarist of the Year' in 1993, emerging from the UK's guitar magazine scene. He spent years as an educator, his columns and lessons demystifying advanced concepts for a generation of players. His own music explores prog-rock and fusion with the virtuosic trio The Aristocrats. His solo album 'Erotic Cakes' remains a benchmark for modern guitar composition. He has collaborated with artists like Steven Wilson and joined Hans Zimmer's live band, bringing rock energy to cinematic scores.
