He built a sprawling, collaborative universe of space-rock, connecting underground legends to create a cosmic musical tapestry.
Don Falcone operates from the fringes, a quiet architect of expansive sonic worlds. Emerging from the American underground, he became the central node in a network of psychedelic and progressive musicians, most notably as the founder and driving force behind Spirits Burning. This collective is less a band and more a constantly shifting constellation, with Falcone as its gravitational center, producing, arranging, and playing multiple instruments. His work is defined by deep, respectful collaboration, bringing together figures like Gong's Daevid Allen, Blue Öyster Cult's Albert Bouchard, and Hawkwind-associated vocalist Bridget Wishart. He doesn't seek the spotlight but instead crafts the environment where these distinctive voices can intersect, resulting in a prolific and consistently exploratory body of work that defies easy categorization, championing the spirit of communal, imaginative rock.
