A gritty, undrafted shooting guard who scrapped his way to an NBA championship, embodying the spirit of a basketball journeyman.
Devin Brown played for the 2005 San Antonio Spurs team that won the NBA championship. Born in 1978, he came out of the University of Texas-San Antonio without the fanfare of a draft pick. He clawed his way onto the Spurs roster through sheer force of will and a robust, physical style of play. A strong, slashing guard who could defend and hit timely shots, Brown became a reliable rotation player. That season led to stints with five other teams over eight seasons. He was never a star, but a consummate professional whose game was built on effort and adaptability.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Devin was born in 1978, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
