A sonic architect whose technical mastery as a producer and virtuosic playing have shaped the extreme frontiers of metal and experimental music.
Colin Marston produced and engineered albums that define modern progressive and extreme metal from his Queens-based studio, Menegroth The Thousand Caves. Born in 1982, he plays the Warr Guitar in Behold... The Arctopus and Krallice, and his work with Gorguts helped resurrect their sound for a new era. A graduate of NYU's music technology program, Marston builds intricate sonic structures that are mathematically dense yet emotionally resonant. He operates at the intersection of technical precision and avant-garde chaos, a central node in the underground's nervous system.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Colin was born in 1982, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.

“The studio is a tool to capture a band's specific sonic identity, not to impose my own.”
