A powerful Malian midfielder who realized a childhood dream by starring for AC Milan after a steady rise in French football.
Bakaye Traoré transferred to AC Milan in 2012. Born in the Parisian suburbs, he chose to represent Mali, his parents' nation. His club journey began as a box-to-box presence at Amiens SC in the French lower tiers. A move to AS Nancy in Ligue 1 solidified his reputation for physical force and occasional spectacular goals. Injuries and fierce competition limited his time at the San Siro. Still, wearing the red-and-black shirt validated a lifetime of work. He brought his combative style to the Turkish Süper Lig before retiring.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Bakaye was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
