With partner Luca Lanotte, she brought a theatrical, character-driven elegance to ice dancing, capturing a World title for Italy with unforgettable programs.
Anna Cappellini, paired with Luca Lanotte, formed one of the most artistically consistent ice dance teams of their generation. Their partnership, which began in 2005, was built on a shared Italian sensibility for drama, musicality, and precise, expressive footwork. They were not the most athletic powerhouses, but they were masterful storytellers. Their breakthrough came in the 2013-2014 season, a whirlwind where they first seized the European championship and then, in a stunning performance in Saitama, Japan, won the World title. Their free dance to 'The Barber of Seville' was a perfect encapsulation of their style: witty, technically crisp, and brimming with character. They remained at the sport's pinnacle for years, winning seven Italian national titles and a full set of Grand Prix medals. After retiring in 2018, Cappellini moved into coaching and choreography, passing on the nuanced, performance-first approach that defined her competitive career.

Anna was born in 1987, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
