Biography

Andi Deris didn't just join Helloween; he resurrected it. When the German power metal pioneers lost their iconic singer Michael Kiske in 1993, the band's future was in doubt. Deris, already known for his work with Pink Cream 69, brought a grittier, more versatile edge to the microphone. His debut album with the band, 1994's 'Master of the Rings,' was a statement of resilience, proving Helloween could evolve. With a voice capable of both razor-sharp aggression and melodic warmth, Deris became the frontman for Helloween's most stable and prolific period, co-writing hits like 'Forever and One' and 'Power.' For three decades, his energetic stage presence and distinct vocals have been central to the band's identity, guiding them through reunions and a landmark album with their former singers, cementing his place as a defining voice in the genre.

Baby Boomers

1946–1964

The largest generation in history at the time. Shaped by postwar prosperity, the Vietnam War, the sexual revolution, and Watergate. They questioned every institution their parents built — then ran them.

Andi was born in 1964, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
