A versatile Australian basketball champion who won titles in the WNBA and WNBL while balancing the demands of motherhood.
Abby Bishop's career is a story of talent, resilience, and rewriting expectations. Bursting onto the scene with the Canberra Capitals as a teenager, the forward's skill and intensity were immediately apparent. Her ability to score inside and out, rebound fiercely, and handle the ball made her a unique matchup problem. A stint with the Seattle Storm brought her a WNBA championship ring in 2010. Back home, she became a cornerstone for multiple WNBL franchises, winning a league MVP award with the Adelaide Lightning in 2015 and later championships with the Canberra Capitals. Bishop's path took a courageous turn in 2014 when she temporarily stepped away from basketball to adopt and raise her niece, integrating motherhood into the life of a professional athlete. She returned to the court with her trademark tenacity, eventually representing Australia at the Olympics and becoming one of the WNBL's most respected veterans.

Abby was born in 1988, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
