A powerful all-rounder whose explosive batting and off-spin bowling were key to India's twin World Cup triumphs in 2007 and 2011.
Yusuf Pathan hit a 37-ball century in the 2010 Indian Premier League, the fastest in the tournament at the time. Born in Baroda, he played as a hard-hitting middle-order batsman and a useful off-spinner. His younger brother Irfan gained attention for swing bowling, but Yusuf built his own career. He contributed to India's victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup and was part of the squad that won the 2011 50-over World Cup. After retiring from cricket, he entered politics and won a seat in India's Parliament.

Yusuf was born in 1982, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
