He partnered with Viktoria Kavaliova to become a standard-bearer for Belarusian ice dance, competing with consistency at European and world championships.
Yurii Bieliaiev's career is woven into the fabric of Belarusian ice dance in the 2010s. Teaming with Viktoria Kavaliova, they formed a partnership defined by steady growth and technical solidity. Their journey took them from the world junior championships, where they competed on home ice in Minsk in 2012, to the senior European championships, becoming regular fixtures in that continental field. While a podium finish at a major ISU championship remained just out of reach, their two national titles and medals on the Challenger series circuit marked them as the country's leading dance team for several seasons. Their skating, often elegant and precise, carried the flag for a nation not traditionally known for strength in the discipline, providing a consistent presence on the international stage.

Yurii was born in 1992, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
