An American jumper whose relentless consistency on the world's biggest stages made him a perennial podium threat in both the long and triple jump.
Will Claye has carved out a distinct legacy in track and field not with a single flash of glory, but with a decade of remarkable durability. Emerging from the shadow of his more famous training partner and friend, Christian Taylor, Claye built a career defined by silver and bronze. His Olympic story began in London 2012, where he medaled in both horizontal jumps, a rare and taxing double. For years, he was the definitive number two in the triple jump, collecting world championship silvers and bronzes behind Taylor, all while maintaining world-class form in the long jump. His persistence paid off with a world indoor title in 2018. Claye's career is a masterclass in high-level consistency, proving that being the second-best in the world at a brutally difficult event is a monumental achievement in itself.

Will was born in 1991, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
