A terrifying 'Samoan Savage' whose explosive agility and fearsome presence made him one of WWE's most unforgettable monsters of the 2000s.
Edward Fatu, as Umaga, executed a spinning heel kick and a diving splash with terrifying grace for a man of his size. A descendant of the Anoa'i family dynasty, he debuted his 'Samoan Savage' persona in 2006, managed by Armando Estrada. His signature 'Samoan Spike' thumb thrust to the throat became a symbol of pure brutality. He captured the Intercontinental Championship twice and engaged in high-profile feuds with John Cena, Triple H, and Jeff Hardy. His raw, intense style made him a standout during the Ruthless Aggression era. His career was cut short in 2009, but his credibility as one of the most physically imposing villains of his time remains firmly etched in WWE history.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Umaga was born in 1973, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
