A commanding centre-back whose leadership from the back was instrumental in Bournemouth's fairy-tale rise from the lower leagues to the Premier League.
Tommy Elphick's career is woven into the fabric of AFC Bournemouth's remarkable ascent. A Brighton & Hove Albion academy product, he found his true calling after a 2012 move to the south coast. At Bournemouth, he quickly became the defensive anchor and club captain, marshaling a side that played with fearless attacking verve. His steady presence and organizational skills provided the necessary balance as Eddie Howe's team charged from League One to the Premier League in a dizzying three-year period. Injuries eventually limited his top-flight contributions, but his legacy as the captain who lifted the Championship trophy in 2015 is indelible. After retiring, he seamlessly transitioned into coaching, returning to Bournemouth as an assistant manager to help guide the club in its latest Premier League era.
