A Finnish sniper whose thunderous slap shot made him a minor-league scoring king, though his NHL chances proved fleeting.
Teemu Pulkkinen's career is defined by a single, devastating weapon: his slap shot. Hailing from Vantaa, Finland, he announced himself as a pure goal-scorer in his homeland before the Detroit Red Wings drafted him. In North America, he became a legend in the American Hockey League, terrorizing goaltenders for the Grand Rapids Griffins. He won the AHL's MVP award in 2015 after a 61-goal season, his one-timer from the left circle a predictable yet nearly unstoppable play. That AHL dominance, however, never fully translated to a permanent NHL role. Stints with Detroit, Minnesota, and Arizona showed flashes of his offensive genius, but questions about his skating and defensive play limited his ice time. After his North American chapter, he returned to Europe, playing in Switzerland, Russia, and finally Germany, his shot remaining a respected threat long after his NHL dream faded.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Teemu was born in 1992, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
