A trailblazing Estonian biathlete who carried her nation's flag at the Winter Olympics with quiet, determined consistency.
In a sport dominated by powerhouses like Norway and Germany, Sirli Hanni carved out a respectable career as a standard-bearer for Estonian biathlon. Hailing from Otepää, a winter sports hub, she rose through the ranks with a shooter's calm and a cross-country skier's endurance. Her career was defined not by a single podium, but by a decade of representing her small Baltic nation on the world's biggest stages. She competed in two Winter Olympics, in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014, and numerous World Championships, often as Estonia's best hope in the women's events. Hanni's results were a reflection of her country's program—hard-fought, with top-30 finishes representing significant victories. Her retirement in 2018 marked the end of an era for Estonian biathlon, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and paving the way for the next generation.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Sirli was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
