A powerful and agile winger from Tonga whose try-scoring prowess and fearless carries have electrified crowds in both the NRL and international rugby league.
Sione Katoa emerged from the rugby-rich landscape of New Zealand, his Tongan heritage fueling a powerful and direct style of play. He first caught serious attention with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL, where his combination of sheer pace, solid frame, and a knack for finding the try line made him a constant threat on the wing. Katoa possessed a unique ability to finish tries in tight corners and break tackles with his strong fend. His commitment to Tonga was never in doubt, and he became a regular fixture for the Mate Ma'a, bringing his club form to the international stage with passionate performances. After his time with the Sharks, he had a stint with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, continuing to contribute his experience and offensive spark before exploring opportunities beyond the NRL.

Sione was born in 1995, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
