A Russian ice dancer whose precise and powerful style carried him to a World Junior title and Youth Olympic gold.
Sergey Mozgov's career on the ice was defined by potent partnerships and a commanding presence. He emerged on the international scene with Anna Yanovskaya, a pairing that quickly became a junior powerhouse. Their skating was marked by a mature intensity and intricate footwork, qualities that propelled them to the top of the world junior podium in 2015, following a silver medal the year before. Their crowning achievement came earlier, at the 2012 Youth Olympics in Innsbruck, where they captured the gold medal, announcing themselves as future stars. After their split, Mozgov teamed with Betina Popova, with whom he found success on the senior Challenger Series circuit, winning the Warsaw Cup in 2017. Though his career concluded before reaching the very peak of the senior world rankings, his impact was significant in Russia's deep ice dancing pipeline, representing a generation of technically strong, expressive dancers who pushed the discipline forward.

Sergey was born in 1995, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
