A skilled Belarusian winger who, alongside his brother, formed a dynamic duo in the NHL, known for his playmaking grit and international loyalty.
Sergei Kostitsyn's hockey path was forever intertwined with that of his older brother, Andrei. Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the same 2005 class, Sergei followed him to North America, and the two eventually became a potent combination for the Nashville Predators. Where Andrei was the pure sniper, Sergei was the feisty playmaker, a winger with sharp hands and a competitive edge that sometimes boiled over. His NHL career was solid if unspectacular, defined by moments of clever playmaking and a willingness to engage physically. After his North American chapter, he returned to Europe, becoming a stalwart for the Belarusian national team in multiple World Championships and Olympics. His legacy is dual: as one half of the most famous brother act in Belarusian hockey history, and as a talented player who represented his small nation with pride on the world's biggest ice hockey stages.

Sergei was born in 1987, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
