The sonic architect behind Kasabian, crafting their swaggering, anthemic rock from the guitar up to the frontman's mic.
Serge Pizzorno is the brainy, bohemian core of Kasabian, the Leicester band that resurrected rock 'n' roll swagger for the indie era. Initially the guitarist and secondary songwriter, he operated in the shadows of frontman Tom Meighan's volcanic stage presence. But Pizzorno was always the band's chief architect, his eclectic tastes—spanning psychedelia, electronica, and classic rock—shaping their dense, propulsive sound. Following the departure of co-writer Chris Karloff, he assumed full creative control, steering the band through ambitious, concept-driven albums like '48:13' and 'For Crying Out Loud.' In 2020, after Meighan's exit, Pizzorno stepped unexpectedly into the lead vocal role, revealing a charismatic, louche delivery that proved the band's engine was, and always had been, his singular vision. Beyond Kasabian, his collaborations with comedian Noel Fielding in Loose Tapestries highlight a playful, art-school eccentricity that fuels his main project.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Serge was born in 1980, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
