A Filipino advocate for overseas workers who shifted from diplomacy to disruptive politics, aiming for the presidency to champion labor rights.
Roy Señeres built a career at the intersection of labor rights and diplomacy, carving a unique path in Philippine politics. A lawyer by training, he served as the Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, where he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the millions of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). This experience fueled a political pivot. He founded the OFW Family Club party-list group, winning a seat in the House of Representatives in 2013 to directly advocate for migrant workers' welfare. In a dramatic move, he declared his candidacy for president in 2016 under the Partido ng Manggagawa at Magsasaka, positioning himself as the voice of labor and the marginalized. His campaign was cut short by his withdrawal due to health reasons and his passing just days later, leaving a legacy of passionate advocacy for the country's modern-day economic heroes.

Roy was born in 1947, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
