A Disney Channel heartthrob turned genre-bending musician, he evolved from teen pop star to a driving force in indie rock.
Ross Lynch played Austin Moon on Disney Channel's "Austin & Ally" before he turned 18. The role cast him as a musically gifted teen, and the show ran for four seasons from 2011 to 2016. Born in Littleton, Colorado, he began performing in a family band with his siblings before his acting career. After Disney, Lynch took a dark turn, portraying serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the 2017 film "My Friend Dahmer." He shifted his music from R5's upbeat pop to The Driver Era, an alternative rock duo he formed with his brother Rocky. The band releases albums and tours. Lynch moved from child star to an artist directing his own creative output.

Ross was born in 1995, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
