A skilled Slovak winger who carved out a solid NHL career with a hard-nosed scoring touch before starring in Europe.
Richard Pánik's hockey journey is one of adaptability and a sharp shot finding a home. Drafted by Tampa Bay in 2009, the Slovak forward bounced between the NHL and AHL before finding a more permanent role with the Toronto Maple Leafs and later the Chicago Blackhawks. In Chicago, he enjoyed his most productive NHL seasons, often playing on a line with Artem Anisimov and Artemi Panarin, using his size and willingness to go to the net to score 20 goals in a season. After further stops in Arizona and Washington, he took his game to the KHL, where he became a top-line force for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, demonstrating the scoring prowess that made him a standout in international play for Slovakia.

Richard was born in 1991, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
