A slugger whose raw power and clutch postseason home runs made him a folk hero in Philadelphia and a feared bat in the league.
Rhys Hoskins hit 18 home runs in his first 34 MLB games in 2017, a historic pace for a debut. Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth round out of Sacramento State in 2014, he moved through the minors with a patient approach and power. His bat-spiking home runs in the 2022 postseason fueled the Phillies' run to the World Series. After missing a year to injury, he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. He continues to produce disciplined, game-changing at-bats, proving that impact comes from production, not draft pedigree.

Rhys was born in 1993, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
