A Lithuanian basketball maestro whose intelligence and clutch shooting made him one of Europe's most complete and feared forwards.
Ramūnas Šiškauskas didn't dominate with sheer athleticism; he conquered European basketball with a surgeon's precision and a veteran's poise. The left-handed forward was the epitome of efficiency, a player whose game was built on footwork, tactical intelligence, and an uncanny ability to hit crucial shots. His club career peaked with CSKA Moscow, where he was the linchpin of a team that consistently contended for the EuroLeague title, earning MVP honors in 2008. He was equally vital for the Lithuanian national team, a steadying force in the golden generation that followed the independence era. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, aiming to impart the same strategic understanding that defined his playing days.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Ramūnas was born in 1978, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
