Known as 'Dr. Dirt' for his gritty, unglamorous style, he carved out a durable career as a craftsman on professional golf's senior tour.
Peter Bagge created the comic book series 'Hate', which ran from 1990 to 1998 and followed the slacker Buddy Bradley through his misadventures in Seattle and New Jersey. Bagge began his career in the early 1980s contributing to 'Weirdo' magazine, where he developed his signature exaggerated, rubbery drawing style. He worked as an assistant to cartoonist Robert Crumb. After 'Hate' ended, Bagge drew the comic 'Apocalypse Nerd' and wrote nonfiction graphic novels, including 'Woman Rebel: The Margaret Sanger Story' and 'Fire!! The Zora Neale Hurston Story'. He also contributed long-form journalism to 'Reason' magazine, often illustrating his own articles. Bagge was born in Peekskill, New York, and later moved to Seattle. He won multiple Harvey Awards for his work on 'Hate'. His style influenced a generation of alternative cartoonists.

Peter was born in 1957, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
