A reliable Greek goalkeeper who provided a steady last line of defense for club and country, known for his calm presence during a decade of international duty.
Orestis Karnezis built his reputation not on flashy saves, but on consistency and composure. He spent the majority of his club career in Greece, becoming a mainstay for Panathinaikos where his dependable performances earned him the starting role for the national team. Karnezis was a fixture in goal for Greece during a successful period, including their surprising run to the knockout stages of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His move to Udinese in 2013 opened a late chapter in Serie A, where he later served as a capable deputy at Napoli and Watford. While never a global superstar, Karnezis represented a classic style of goalkeeping: efficient, positionally sound, and unflappable under pressure. His career was a model of professional stability, providing a secure foundation for the teams he represented.

Orestis was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
