A tenacious British driver who battled through the Formula E field to clinch a dramatic and hard-fought world championship title.
Oliver Rowland's journey to the top of electric motorsport was a testament to persistence. Hailing from Yorkshire, he cut his teeth in the traditional European single-seater ladder, becoming a race winner in Formula 2 and serving as a development driver for the Williams Formula 1 team. When his path to F1 narrowed, he adeptly shifted gears to Formula E, joining the then-new Nissan e.dams squad. Rowland quickly established himself as one of the series' most aggressive and capable qualifiers, renowned for extracting blistering one-lap speed from his car. For years, he was a perennial threat, but the ultimate prize eluded him until the 2024-25 season. That campaign became a defining battle of consistency and nerve, where he overcame fierce competition to secure the drivers' championship, delivering Nissan its first title in the series and cementing his own legacy as a champion of the electric era.
